SABC VIDEO WALLS

BRIEF AND CHALLENGES:

To create an experience for anyone entering the South African Broadcasting Corporation’s reception area to be able to view the current live feeds of their main four stations. The challenge was that SABC is built specifically to repel signal, as it is a broadcaster. It does not have live feeds available at the reception area and the closest a dish could be installed was over 300 metres away.

SOLUTION:

Adtec proposed installing four video walls, made up of 9 x 46” 450 cm/d2 screens each. We worked closely with the Broadcasting Technical Team of the SABC and were given access to its internal streamed feeds. Adtec built custom digital signage players from the ground up, capable of capturing and displaying the feeds as required. Adtec continues to monitor and improve these devices as the SABC digital feed quality increases.
